Set your 2018 reading Goal!

My 2018 reading goal is Dwarf Peach! By the end of this year I will have probably read around 31,000 pages, including some audiobooks, so if I don't slack off, I think I can manage 36,000 in 2018. I am also going to make as many of those pages as I can come from books I own and have not read.
Happy Reading!
Happy Reading!

But, since I like a challenge, I'm going to make my official goal for the year a 60,000 page Oak.

When I look at what's in my TBR and what other challenges I'm in, I think that puts me around Dwarf Peach... so I'm going to stretch it to Apple Tree at 48,000 pages. That's a little intimidating haha but I love the idea of this type of challenge!
12/30 Update: after the category revisions, I'm going to put myself at Eastern Redbud for 42,000 pages. :)
Glad to have you participating Jenna!
If there is the demand in 2018 I can make the gaps between levels smaller. 12,000 pages is a rather wide gap but my reasoning was for everyone to get a feel for where they would be in 2018 and maybe close the gaps in 2019 to make it easier to have incremental goals.

I was shocked how much more I have been able to read since finishing college in May! I no longer feel guilty about reading books I want to over ones for school so more reading in general gets done.

Edit: Still think I'll attempt Apple Tree but more than likely I'll end up Eastern Redbud!

Happy to have you all!
I added a few intermediary levels to the challenge but the original core ones stayed the same for the most part. Feel free to edit your goal post or set a new goal if one of the other levels suits you better!

I've just looked up the Norfolk Island Pine (since that's my goal for 2018) and apparently it's not an easy tree to maintain. Hopefully my target will not be so difficult.

If you're looking for a good spreadsheet reading tracker, here's mine!

This isn't originally my spreadsheet but I did a lot of work to make it more usable. That being said, I recommend hiding columns you don't want to use instead of deleting!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoys this challenge. I'm not going to waste any time on starting!

Some of the books I have enjoyed along the way:
Word by Word by Kory Stamper
In the Midst of Winter by Isabel Allende
The Second Mrs. Hockaday by Susan Rivers
Desperation Road by Michael Ferris Smith
Serena by Ron Rash
Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

Congratulations!

As controversial as it may be, audiobooks will count for this challenge! When finished, just make sure you have an edition selected that has page numbers as some audiobook editions on goodreads have 0 pages.
