Patrick Clark | 24 comments I got a slow start on marketing the first novel in my new series: Central Intelligence Group. I am decreasing the price to the introductory price of 99 cents on Kindle in the hope of getting some reviews of the book.

The players in this fast-moving story include MI6, federal narcs, French intelligence officers, and the Corsican mob. As the story unfolds, former OSS officer Tom O'Brien wonders just how he got involved in all this. Throw in a seductive woman, and he just gets deeper into trouble as he unravels a drugs-for-guns deal. It's an action novel, but includes a good dose of the history of the troubled Middle East that plagues us to this day.

The story is set in Lebanon and Syria at the end of World War II as former allies Britain and France maneuver for dominance in the region. It wasn't just political maneuvering as the British threatened military force when the French balked at their promise to pull their forces out of Syria at war's end, and the two countries' intelligence services initiated a deadly duel.

The second book in the series - The King David - will be on Kindle soon.

Patrick Clark | 24 comments I have published the second novel in my series Central Intelligence Group as a Kindle e-book. The book is titled The King David: The Sun Sets on an Empire, and it will be on sale at an introductory price of 99 cents for the next month. It features former OSS agent Tom O'Brien as he and America move into the post-war difficulties.

With the end of World War II, the Palestine mandate threatens to blow itself apart. From their headquarters at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, the British try to keep the lid on the situation as pressure to find a home for Europe's Holocaust victims runs head on into Arab resistance to Jewish immigration. American intelligence officer Tom O'Brien is sent to Palestine to make contact with the Jewish underground to try to stop the violence while President Truman and the UN search for solutions to difficult problems. O'Brien finds it to be an impossible task as he is sucked into the moral and political conundrum. He struggles to find a balance among the competing interests of the troubled land, and finds he and his wife are in danger for his troubles.

An action novel based on true events, I hope you will enjoy it.
