VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE discussion

This is not new news, and I apologize for just getting to it now...but, YES, there are definite plans to make a new Dracula movie in the near future. Director Karyn Kusama (Destroyer, The Invitation, Jennifer’s Body) is set to “reboot” (I hate that word with a passion) Dracula and claims that her version will “..be more faithful to the material of Bram Stoker’s novel than previous adaptations have been…”.

Okay now, I’m having trouble finding this, but I did read last week in one article that in Kusama’s adaptation, she said that “..he [Dracula] will not be portrayed as the romantic hero that he has been in the past…”. (take that Francis Ford Copolla!)

I am all for this!!! I love the novel and I always saw a problem when it came to adapting the book to screen because we’ve never REALLY seen an absolutely accurate version of Bram Stoker’s novel before in film. Many people who go to read the book for the first time are shocked that it is so different from the movies. So I say, hell yeah, Kusama…give us a faithful film adaptation of the book…just don’t f*ck it up!!!
