Lauren I liked the Patternmaster but I wish it was more detailed and the ending came too soon for me. Which of Butlers novels is your fav?

Kindred is my favourite Butler so far. It's got some heavy themes (racism, slavery, rape) but Butler has this talent for telling serious stories in a way that gets you hooked on the story and makes you think but without getting you down (I hate it when books make me feel miserable, even if they're top class). Her Xenogenesis series (starting with Dawn) is also very good, although it gets a little repetitive (similar plot in each book).
I read Parable of the Sower, which was ok. I really want to read Fledgling, which is about young girl who finds out she's a 53-year old vampire. Sounds really interesting.

I've been wanting to re-read Butler's Dawn too. It's fairly short so maybe I can squeeze it in :)
