Erika Robuck Yes, and there is also a large print edition available if that is better for you.
Erika Robuck Hi Lonnie,

If I'm able to get on the road again, I will head to FoxTale Bookshoppe, in Woodstock, GA. I keep an up to date list on my website and social media sites. www.erikarobuck.com

I hope to get there, soon!

Thank you,
Erika
Erika Robuck Hi Edee,

Thank you for your kind words; I am grateful.

I published a satire as E. Robuck this year, and I am now back to working on historical fiction. I hope to have a complete manuscript to pitch by the end of the summer or early fall. I cannot yet disclose the subject, but I can say I'm researching remarkable women of astounding courage. While the research has been a massive undertaking, it has been well worth my time, and I can't wait to share it with readers.

Best wishes to you, and I'm delighted you enjoyed The House of Hawthorne.

Fondly,
Erika
Erika Robuck Good Morning!

I want to keep her a secret while I write. Once I sell the book, I will broadcast from the hilltops. :)

Thanks for your interest!

Erika Robuck Hi Bobbi,

I wish I could give you a teaser, but I don't discuss works in progress until they are complete, sold, and lined up for publication. I promise I'm working hard and will let my readers know the *moment* I have news to share.

Thank you for your support! It means a lot.

Sincerely,
Erika
Erika Robuck Hi Sara, I am working hard on another book, and will post the moment I have good news about future publication. Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm!!

The Orphan's Tale, by Pam Jenoff

The Storyteller, by Jodi Piccoult
Erika Robuck The mystery I'd like to solve leads to my life and involves my Irish grandfather. There was apparently a wife in Ireland, a wife here, and kids with each. There were also rumors of exportation and the IRA. I'd like to figure out what kind of man he was. Great question!
Erika Robuck I love OUTLANDER'S Jamie and Claire. The adore and challenge each other, have a partnership of equals who make each other grow, and a steamy love life. Their love is truly timeless.
Erika Robuck Hi, Kelly!

I have always been drawn to Sylvia Plath's work, but her family is extremely private, so I couldn't write a novel about her. I am also drawn to Poe, but there are a host of novels featuring him, so I would likely stay away from the subject. I love Steinbeck's work, but do not feel any connection to him as an individual, which would be necessary if I wrote about him.

As much as I love writing about writers, my new work in progress--while still historical--moves in the suspense direction. I want to continually challenge and reinvent myself.

Thanks for your question!

Erika Robuck Goodreads is a very author friendly site. This will get you started: https://www.goodreads.com/author/program. I'd also recommend watching your favorite authors, seeing how they interact, and following some of their practices.

One tip my publisher gave me is to host a monthly giveaway. It brings readers to you, gets them to add your books to their To Read shelves, and keeps you engaged.

Best wishes!

Erika Robuck How delightful! The Peabodys are such a fascinating group. Each of the sisters deserves her own book. Have you read Mary's JUANITA? It's an intense account of their time in Cuba. She waited to publish it until the Morrells had died.

? :)
Erika Robuck I envy that you teach American Lit--always my favorite classes from high school to college.

As for Scott and Zelda, they seem to represent the classic co-dependent couple. They likely shared equal parts in their failings, and both suffered--he from alcoholism and she from mental illness.

When the tragic side of their relationship seems overwhelming, I return to their letters. They expressed their love for one another so perfectly on paper. If their addictions and hospitalizations could have been stripped away, they might have had a beautiful love story.
Erika Robuck Hello, Anne! My next novel features Nathaniel Hawthorne (author of The Scarlet Letter, etc.) and his artist wife Sophia. Their good friends include Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry Thoreau, President Franklin Pierce, the Alcotts, Margaret Fuller, and many more famous figures from history.

Have you seen the giveaway for The House of Hawthorne (pub date May 5th.) It runs through February 3rd.
Erika Robuck Writer's block is a signal to me that I need removal from my subject. I start researching another book, go fishing, or hiking, and inevitably, the answer to my problem with my work in progress sorts itself out.
Erika Robuck The most moving part of being a writer is holding a published work in your hands--the physical result of your imagination and hard work. From my first visit to the Hemingway House in Key West years ago when I thought I needed to set a novel there, to the publication of my novel, HEMINGWAY'S GIRL, to a signing at the house once the book had been released, it was a true dream come true.
Erika Robuck Write about what consumes your thoughts and daydreams--a place you are eager to go in your mind. That will help with the necessary discipline of working every day.
Erika Robuck A visit to Concord, MA during my last book tour resulted in an historic tour of the Old Manse, Nathaniel and Sophia Hawthorne's place of residence in the early days of their marriage. My wanderings also led me to Walden Pond, where they visited Henry Thoreau, the houses of the Emersons and Alcotts, and the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, where they are all buried. This inspired me to write THE HOUSE OF HAWTHORNE, due for release in May of 2015.
