i much prefer writing fiction. my histories are about power. my novels are about private life and of course Love. and i love writing about that

Oh thats annoying. yes there are castlists in the book but of course not in the audio. i am not sure how to get the castlists to you. a better idea is just to relax enjoy the story and not worry too much about the family trees and castlists.... hope you enjoy the book and best wishes to you from london. simon

So glad you liked it. you might enjoy young stalin too. these books are so much work usually about 3 or 4 years each, its always a relief when its over. my new one is The Romanovs. best wishes simon

I have read 'Young Stalin' it was the first book of yours i read, i really enjoyed it as well. I knew very little of Stalins early life or what it was like to live in place like Georgia/Russia at that time, so it was a fascinating read. I will move onto the Romanovs next!

hi ashleigh thank you for this lovely question. i am so glad you like the books. i work very hard to make the history books both scholarly and based in archival research but also accessible to all readers. as for the novels, they are very different from the history books. anyway thank you and i hope you enjoy the new one The Romanovs. yrs Simon
