Most of my inspiration comes from talking to people... I love the interaction and different perspectives.
I especially love brainstorming and coming up with new and innovative way of doing things.
Sometimes the challenge of being told I can't do something... anything really is enough though.
I think to myself... what? I can't write a book you say? Is that a challenge? Yes?
And then watch out... I won't quit until it's done.
Call it what you will. Writing is addictive, passionate, challenging ... yes!
But ultimately it is one of the most rewarding endeavors I have ever attempted.

My most recent book is called Stream of Consciousness: Break the Silence. It's a Mystery / Thriller based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
I got the idea to write this book while anticipating my (at the time, in 2012) upcoming vacation in Tenerife. I had been reading about what to do and what to see when I stumbled on a rather upsetting true report of a beheading which had taken place the year before and my intrigue and imagination went viral. Before long my characters were born and set free, becoming more powerful and dramatic every day.
I often feel that they wrote the book. I was just lucky enough to go along for the wicked 'nail-biting' ride.
This is my first fiction novel, but it will not be my last.
I must admit, I surprised myself with this one.

I am currently working on two manuscripts:
Stream of Consciousness: End the Silence is a serious thriller / mystery - my first work of fiction... and Brazen Perspective: What if we got it wrong - non-fiction.

Write, write, write!
Let it rest!
Come back and reread what you have written. Resist making too many changes... forge on... and write, write, write!
There is too much of a tendency to muck up your writing in the beginning. You panick, edit too much and too soon, you second guess. You may even question why you ever thought you could write in the beginning. But persist. Be creative. Listen. Question. Explore.
Writing is a process. Let it flow!
Get your idea down! Edit and polish later!

The best thing about being a writer is receiving feedback: ratings, reviews, an email or two.
I particularly enjoy seeing quotes from my books circulating the globe and being used in positive and useful ways.
The truth is... very few writers are in this for the money. It is unrealistic to write one, or even ten books, and expect to hit a home-run - $$. We want to share our thoughts and ideas.
SO, if you have a favourite writer... Let them know! Make their day! Make their year!
I remember working on my second book and feeling quite frazzled one day to the point that I questioned whether to keep going or not... and let me say I don't give up easily.
That night I received an incredible email from a lady who had read my first book and loved it... She signed off by saying, "Don't ever stop writing!"
Talk about timely!.... Thanks again Re!

I generally have several manuscripts in progress at any one time.
If I slow down with ideas for one I let it rest and move on to another, whichever one catches my interest.
I currently have nine manuscripts on the go... yes nine! Some are non-fiction and some fiction. They range from being in the concept stage to nearing completion.
I think in this way, I never really get writer's block. The best ideas take priority.
For me, writing is a highly addictive and fascinating process. It is part of my everyday life!
