“I'll be answering questions about the upcoming psychological horror novel, 'Golem'. Go ahead ask anything you desire, I'm an open book, or a book of blood, as Clive Barker would say.”

Truthfully that's a loaded question. On the subconscious level my wife would say I write horror books to dive into the fiction world because my own life and reality has been more of a surreal experience than any fiction book could match. So, with that being said, let's begin with baby PD, who by the time he was a year old only slept one hour a day-I was an insomniac until eight years old, sleeping no more than a few hours each night. I used to climb out of my crib and crawl downstairs to 'hang out' as my mom would say. Once I even took a pan from the kitchen and went and smacked my uncle in the head with it. Maybe I was possessed, or perhaps just an overactive baby, not sure really, but here's a bit of mystery to add to this bouncing baby boy narrative. According to multiple sources, the house we lived in was haunted. My parents, uncles and aunts all remember the house vividly, a result of more than a handful of strange occurrences that took place in the house including a room in the back of the hall everyone was afraid to go into. Years later, my mother was able to do some research and discovered a woman was murdered in that room, which just so happened to be the room next to mine. Strange things indeed. I also used to bang my head agains the crib, so much to the point where I suffered a large knot on the back of my skull and had to be taken out of the crib-I wasn't any older than six months at this point. I've been told I would bang my head so hard the crib would wind up on the other side of the room. Funny though, all this occurred soon after The Exorcist hit theaters. So, was there a ghost in that back room or not?

I apologize I did not answer this earlier. My summer reading list consisted of: The Hunger, The Silent Patient, Forsaken, Dracul, The Fourth Monkey, Woman in the Woods (John Connolly), Origin (Dan Brown), Vicious (VE Schwab), and Doctor Sleep. Those are just off the top of my head.

She took the planet in the palm of her hand; unleashed a portal of devils with a simple breath and a shrug. Laying waste to all that was good, turning brother against brother - parent against child - mad and hungry for flesh, and with it she smiled, content she'd done right.

I'd go to V.E. Schwab's world of Villains (Vicious and Vengeful). What would I do? Wreak Havoc with my supernatural ability to transform chemical structures, bring down buildings, turn people into statues and sit on a throne of skulls.

I wrote an article on writes block not too long ago. The link is below. To me writers block is just my subconscious not agreeing with where the story is going or to edit that last chapter because something is out of place and needs to be addressed before moving forward. Long walks help the brain and thoughts to unravel. The answer to writers block is in the brain, let it unfold without any worry or concern. Here's the link (if its broken please lmk, I'll repost on my own site). https://www.jolsclub.com/mindfulness-...

Complete life satisfaction. There's nothing I enjoy more than being a writer. (don't tell my wife that please). Also, getting into my head, although in the past I thought that was seriously dangerous I've come to find out how wrong I was. My characters want to come out and be heard and they're all lining up to scream at the top of their lungs, jump out of my brain and land on the page.

keep working at it. don't give up. find your audience. write, read and absolutely, without a doubt, fall in love with editing. Of course be careful with the scammers, there's too many to count, probably more scammers then legit resources. Make friends and get support from other writers and reading groups. ask questions, research companies before you pay them.

Working on a few novels at this time. The first is a dystopian scifi series, 'The Rose' (set to release September 2020). The series is about a human alien conspiracy to turn human beings into zombified slaves in an effort to achieve interstellar domination. I have seven books planned over three independent although interconnected series. I'm also working on a horror novel titled Golem (should be released in early 2021). Golem is about a 1940's New York socialite and artist who incarnates an evil spirit into her statue after a traumatic break up with her fiancé. In the interim I started plotting for 'The Rose Vol. 2' and a second horror novel, 'Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect' (cannibals, aliens and clowns). I always like to include multiple themes and genres so each book incorporates suspense, thriller and mystery.

Long walks and music. depending on what I'm writing music choices can be anything from Janis Joplin to Pearl Jam. Sometimes mediation or classical music to calm the mind but that's more typically reserved to combat writers block or beginning the editing process (to maintain focus). Most often I'm listening to Led Zeppelin radio on pandora, which has fit perfectly when writing battle and fight scenes for scifi novels and gruesome folds of darkness for my upcoming horror novel, Golem.

my most recent book is the upcoming dystopian sci-fi 'The Rose'. The story first came to me about ten years ago with the idea of an underground compound and a freedom fighter who must enter the compound in order to rescue a highly important character in the rebellion. Over the years the story evolved due to my fanatical interests in ancient alien and conspiracy theories. I chose the title after learning and researching alchemy practices. The rose is a meditation practiced by alchemists. Alchemy is the ability to transform chemical structures. Also a useful weapon when battling alien vampires. I always believed that having such a super power would be really cool, bending chemistry and physics with a single thought would be bad ass. Hence 'The Rose'. The book is set to be published in September 2020 but I'll be doing a lot of promotions and giveaways before then.
