Goodreads asked P.D. Alleva:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

P.D. Alleva Truthfully that's a loaded question. On the subconscious level my wife would say I write horror books to dive into the fiction world because my own life and reality has been more of a surreal experience than any fiction book could match. So, with that being said, let's begin with baby PD, who by the time he was a year old only slept one hour a day-I was an insomniac until eight years old, sleeping no more than a few hours each night. I used to climb out of my crib and crawl downstairs to 'hang out' as my mom would say. Once I even took a pan from the kitchen and went and smacked my uncle in the head with it. Maybe I was possessed, or perhaps just an overactive baby, not sure really, but here's a bit of mystery to add to this bouncing baby boy narrative. According to multiple sources, the house we lived in was haunted. My parents, uncles and aunts all remember the house vividly, a result of more than a handful of strange occurrences that took place in the house including a room in the back of the hall everyone was afraid to go into. Years later, my mother was able to do some research and discovered a woman was murdered in that room, which just so happened to be the room next to mine. Strange things indeed. I also used to bang my head agains the crib, so much to the point where I suffered a large knot on the back of my skull and had to be taken out of the crib-I wasn't any older than six months at this point. I've been told I would bang my head so hard the crib would wind up on the other side of the room. Funny though, all this occurred soon after The Exorcist hit theaters. So, was there a ghost in that back room or not?
