Elizabeth Blair Weeks-Rowe was born in 1970 in San Diego, CA. She knew from a very early age that she wanted to be a writer, and wrote her first poem at age 5. As she came from a family of nurses and physicians, she naturally migrated to the field of health care, and became a nurse in 1998. A career in clinical research followed suit, which introduced her to the exciting world of research studies, and drug development and innovation. For nearly 15 years she has worked in a variety of clinical research roles, such as Clinical Research Associate (CRA), CRA trainer, CRA manager and business development director. Other times, I open the computer, and the pause widens, and my thoughts struggle, and that is when I know the inspiration is not forthcoming. That is my signal to close the proverbial shop for a time. The writing has to be organic and natural, not forced. I fortunately have not had an extended period of writer's block.(less)
