What benefits have meditation brought you?

description

In this modern world. This question may seem with no significance. But The most important things in this life are the simpler ones. Simplicity is the essence of existence. Yet most of people don’t understand simplicity and don’t consider it and underestimate the powerful effect of it.

It is more real to say what benefits have meditation brought out of me. People always feel indifferent to meditation at first as they feel indifferent to every other thing that concerns their state of mind and self care. Most people are having a lot of inner problems at the same time their egos are constantly convincing them with the idea that they don’t need to help themselves. They are perfect. And whatever they are thinking or doing is not the problem. The world is the problem. The circumstances are the problem. People are the problem. “Not me!”

That is why you see how people give almost no care or consideration to a simple practice like meditation. That is why they find it difficult to sit for an hour, just 20 minutes seems a long time. The problem is not with time. The problem is in escapism.

People don’t want to face themselves. They know deep down that meditation is a life changing experience. That is why the ego has a lot of resistance towards it. Because ego doesn’t go well with meditation. The moment you start doing a little bit of it the ego starts to feel uncomfortable. It starts the journey of fear. Of all the things hidden within us as meditators.

The truth is most of us have been meditating since our childhood. Just a moment of staring at a view and thinking about what we were doing. Just a moment of walking around in nature or under a tree or holding a flower. Just a moment near the ocean or near a river. Just a moment in a higher hill. We have been meditating…

And then something happens. You grow up. As an adolescent you are distracted with your hormones and trying to prove yourself among your peers. And that’s when you pick up the habit of impatience. You want everything to be in a hurry. Because you are in a race. That is how society brought you to think. That everything is going away and you gotta do it as fast as you can. You have to meet those standards so that you can prove yourself to the world and the people around. It doesn’t matter how you feel what matters is what you have and what you show and what you collect.

This is a crucial transformation. Because after adolescence the waging war against your true self starts. Now you are beginning to feel that you are lost and don’t know what to do. Now you have no identity no uniqueness. Just a regular person who is going by the rules and trying to somehow feed his desires anyway he or she can.

And that’s when the mental illnesses start to manifest themselves. At first you ignore them. In your adulthood you deny them. In your 50s you don’t even know what people are talking about (because you no longer see the difference between you and the things you do) Your conscious state is completely lost you are now just a bundle of repetition of habits. Of course there are glimpses of love and happiness here and there, But not without feeling lonely and isolated at the end of everyday of your life.

So… Do you want to know what meditation can do? It can alter all of this story. It can make you control your destiny. It can show you things you have never thought that are possible before. More importantly, It can nourish the seed within you, the seed of self love and divinity, that will turn to the most beautiful rose you can ever imagine, that has the most extravagant fragrance you can ever smell.

Your heart needs meditation as the water absorbed by the dirt into those seeds. Your heart needs meditation as the new born child needs the tit of his loving mother. And there is no limit to meditation. There are no boundaries to meditation. There is no extremity in looking into yourself.

All the problems that mankind have been crying about for centuries are solved with this simple practice. In fact, Those who knew this and created all devices to distract and control the human mind specifically worked on keeping it far away from meditation, by strengthening the mechanism of the ego, through the complex prison called society. That is why the normal guy doesn’t really think about meditation that much. Because he is taught to do anything to distract himself from thinking about his state of being that much. And his state of being is ultimately the ultimate form of meditation.

Meditation is the way that you have long been longing for. The way of happiness and peace. People keep talking about peace. But they don’t talk about meditation. Meditation is the lost treasure within the pyramids. Meditation is the secret of secrets. The formula that all scientists have been searching for.

But how can something as simple as that be alluring to the modern mind.

And that is not a question and it is not even an answer…

Peace and love.

Does laying in bed thinking count as meditation?

If your are not aware of your thinking then it is not meditation.
If you are triggered by your thinking that is not meditation.

If your are witnessing watching observing and accepting your state of thinking. That is the “beginning” of meditation.

But if you are just laying and thinking about life and what happened. And drifting with your thoughts that take you out of the present moment.. then that is not meditation..

Meditation is the science of being who you truly are. And what you are exists here and now, not what other people said and did, or what happened, what’s going to happen, what “ifs”. That is all rubbish! It is all nonsense..

What you are is what you are.. here this! Fully accepting yourself and surrendering to whatever is happening here.. Pain or joy it doesn’t matter! What matters is that you are yourself here and now.. And you are not going anywhere until you are being your “self” totally and permanently.. For Eternity!

Peace & Love
