A free book?! Surely you jest, Andrew!

Hello everyone,

Do you live in North America? And do you want a free book?

What!? C'mon, nothing is free! Andrew, are you toying with our book-loving emotions?

Nope. And no catch, I promise!

Recently I read Stealing Athena by Karen Essex, and then I had an interview with the lovely author herself. It's a ripping good yarn, this book, and here's your chance to win a free copy.

To win Stealing Athena, head over to our interview on the Vintage Blog page, at this address...

http://vintagebooks.wordpress.com/2009/08/20/candid-and-uncensored-with-andrew-davidson-and-karen-essex/

... and enter into the comment sections the following phrase...

"Andrew told me I could steal Athena."

That's all.

The first ten North Americans to do this will win a free copy. (Not trying to discriminate here, but we've got to keep down shipping costs somehow.)

Only the first ten (10) comment posters will win this fine novel, so don't hesitate. Do it right now. The contest closes on September 15th, but I have the feeling these books will be gone long before then....

Good luck,
Andrew

P.S. One book per person, of course!

In Conversation with Karen Essex

Hi Everyone,

I recently had a 45 minute (two-way) interview with the author Karen Essex, who wrote Stealing Athena and Leonardo's Swans.

You can find the transcript of the interview, and a downloadable .mp3 of the entire conversation, here:

Enjoy!

The Gargoyle is nominated for a British Book Award

Hi Everyone,

I think it's just about time that I gave the blog function on Goodreads a try....

In the U.K. there's a television program called Richard and Judy that is quite active in supporting books. At the moment, they're running a ten-week series of shows for their "Best Reads 2009." One of the books on this list of ten is -- hooray! -- The Gargoyle.

At the Galaxy British Book Awards in London in April, the "winner" (although, really, writing is never a competition with other authors) will be announced.

If you would like to cast a vote for The Gargoyle - or any of the other books in the Best Reads category, or the other categories - feel free to head over to this address and mark the ballot online:

http://www.galaxybritishbookawards.co...?

Thanks,
And all the best,
Andrew
