October's Book of the Month
I just got back from a conference that took place in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida, where I enjoyed not only the beach and waves but also some fabulous seafood. Believe it or not, I’m glad to be home, though. Autumn in central Illinois is simply gorgeous–the nights have turned cool, the trees are blazing orange and yellow, and the Honey Crisp apples are ripe. I do live this time of year!
I’ve got some updates to my website.
My new Book of the Month is Sally MacKenzie’s The Naked Baron.
Notorious Pleasures has a new and improved cover–take a look and let me know what you think.
The Maiden Lane series Cast of Characters is up.
And you still have time to enter my website contest!
Finally, I’ve got an exciting contest up on Facebook: In October I’ll be giving away a $100 gift certificate to Borders bookstore. To enter the contest all you have to do is “like” my Facebook fan page. That’s it! And if you’re already a fan, don’t worry–you’re entered into the contest.
Enjoy!

An Upcoming Signing and a Contest!
I'm quite excited! I just heard word that I'll be signing at the Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville, Illinois on April 27th. I'll be joined by several other author friends, but I want to wait to announce who until we have definite confirmations. Just be assured that if you read historical romance this won't be a signing to miss. ;-)
My goodness, it's already February and Lord of Darkness will be here in 26 days. If you haven't already done so, now might be a good time to pre-order the book or ebook so as to have it in your hands on release day.
To celebrate the release of Lord of Darkness , I'm holding a Facebook contest along with Eloisa James, Susan Mallery, Julia London, Jillian Hunter, and debut author, Maire Claremont. The contest runs February 1st thru March 15th. We'll be giving away weekly signed book bundles and, at the end, a new iPad mini! Do be sure to enter.
Meanwhile, check out my Maiden Lane pages for the List of Characters for Lord of Darkness , as well as the new St. John Family Tree. I've been adding to the excerpt of Lord of Darkness (we're now in Chapter 2) and there's also an ongoing "prologue"--letters between Megs and Godric written during the two year gap between the end of Thief of Shadows and the beginning of Lord of Darkness .
Finally, if you'd like to be alerted the very day that Lord of Darkness arrives in stores, please sign up for my one time only Tell Me When the Book is Out! News Alert.
Enjoy!

Lord of Darkness is in Stores!
Lord of Darkness
is in stores now and I hope you've got your copy. When you do, will you do me a favor and post a review of what you thought of the book on Amazon or Goodreads or both? Apparently, the publishers quite like that sort of thing and since I'm up for contract, well...it can't hurt. ;-)
Meanwhile, you might want to check out the latest installment of my online prologue to Lord of Darkness , I've added Her Grace to the Imaginary Dogs on my Extras page, and finally, the St. John family tree has been added to the Families page in my Maiden Lane pages.
If you're on Facebook, be sure to enter my iPad mini contest!
Last, but far from least, Duke of Midnight is already available for preorder on Kindle. Stay tuned until October. ;-)
Enjoy!

I need your opinion...
October 15th is when
Duke of Midnight
officially hits the stores--or your ereader.
It’s well known that the more reviews on Amazon, the more new readers see a book. Obviously I’d like to have as many readers as possible be aware of my books--that’s why I write after all: so readers can enjoy my books. But I hate simply asking for readers like you to post reviews without offering something in return. So here’s an idea I had: what if I offered a free epilogue from one of the Maiden Lane books when Duke of Midnight reaches one hundred reviews on Amazon? What do you think? Would you be interested in posting a review for me? What book epilogue would you like to read? I’d really like your input on this--after all you are the reader and what you think is the important thing. You can tell me your thoughts on my Facebook page, on Twitter, on Goodreads, or you can email me directly.
Meanwhile, I have several contests going on both Facebook and Twitter. On Twitter I’m giving away a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card when I reach 10,000 followers. On Facebook, I’ve teamed up with Madeline Hunter, Teresa Medeiros, Kristan Higgins, and Rachel Gibson to give away a book bundle through October, with a grand prize of a Kindle Paperwhite. Just follow me on Twitter or ‘like’ my Facebook page to enter--and if you’re a follower already, you’re automatically entered!

Name That Baby!
Brrr! It's very, very cold here in central Illinois right now. To brighten the winter blues I'm holding a fun contest on my Facebook page. As you know, in the Maiden Lane Christmas Special Lady Margaret St. John and her husband, Godric St. John, were expecting a Blessed Event. Now I'm delighted to announce that Megs has been delivered of a healthy baby girl. Both mother and child are doing well, but we have one problem: the baby has no name! I'm holding a contest until February 14th: help me (and Megs and Godric) name their daughter. The winner will receive a garnet heart necklace--the birthstone of January. Enter as many times as you wish and good luck!
