An Upcoming Signing and a Contest!
I'm quite excited! I just heard word that I'll be signing at the Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville, Illinois on April 27th. I'll be joined by several other author friends, but I want to wait to announce who until we have definite confirmations. Just be assured that if you read historical romance this won't be a signing to miss. ;-)
My goodness, it's already February and Lord of Darkness will be here in 26 days. If you haven't already done so, now might be a good time to pre-order the book or ebook so as to have it in your hands on release day.
To celebrate the release of Lord of Darkness , I'm holding a Facebook contest along with Eloisa James, Susan Mallery, Julia London, Jillian Hunter, and debut author, Maire Claremont. The contest runs February 1st thru March 15th. We'll be giving away weekly signed book bundles and, at the end, a new iPad mini! Do be sure to enter.
Meanwhile, check out my Maiden Lane pages for the List of Characters for Lord of Darkness , as well as the new St. John Family Tree. I've been adding to the excerpt of Lord of Darkness (we're now in Chapter 2) and there's also an ongoing "prologue"--letters between Megs and Godric written during the two year gap between the end of Thief of Shadows and the beginning of Lord of Darkness .

Road Trip & Summer News
What a gorgeous August we're having here in central Illinois! Mild weather, no bugs, and sunshine nearly everyday. I've been taking advantage of the unseasonably lovely weather to play in my garden, but starting tomorrow I'm off on a road trip with my good friend, Jade Lee. We'll be driving to Pennsylvania, spending a week at a Bed and Breakfast at a writing retreat with three other writer friends and then driving back. On the way home we hope to stop by several bookstores to take a break and sign stock. Stay tuned!
I have wonderful news! I've just signed a contract with my publisher for a new contemporary romance under my alter ego, Julia Harper. I'm writing it right now and it's tentatively scheduled for release summer of 2014.
In other news I'll be appearing at Barbara Vey's Reader Appreciation Luncheon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, April 26, 2014. Many other authors are attending, including the wonderful Debbie Macomber, who will be the luncheon speaker. I hope to see you there!

San Diego Signing & a New Novella
I'm in San Diego this week for Romance Writers of America's annual conference which includes the Literacy Signing on Wednesday, July 13th from 5:30-7:30 at the Marriott Marquis & Marina. I hope you can make it--there'll be over 400 romance authors signing their books. If you do come, be sure and stop by to say hi!

Upcoming Appearances
Whew! This has been a busy spring (I'm calling it spring even though there's still snow on the ground here in Minnesota.) I just finished the first draft of Duke of Desire (out October 17th) and I'm now working on Once Upon a Maiden Lane, an enovella out October 3rd.
Meanwhile, I just had a look at my calendar and realized that the RT Booklovers Convention is coming up soon. This year it's in Atlanta and will run from May 2-7. I'll be there at the big booksigning as well as at least one panel and two reader parties! I hope you'll join me.
