The Broken Duke!!

Happy Fall! I’m celebrating with a new release! The Broken Duke is an erotic historical romance with a broken hero and a heroine trying to protect her secret identity. It’s super spicy and really emotional and may be my favorite book yet. It’s the third in my 1797 Club series, but can be read standalone. Here is a quick description:

Adelaide Longford is London’s most overlooked bluestocking wallflower and that is fine by her. Being ignored gives her the perfect opportunity to sneak out and secretly take on the persona of the most celebrated actress of the day, Lydia Ford. The thrill of walking the boards and hearing the applause of those who watch her is the most exciting experience of her life.

Until Graham Everly, Duke of Northfield comes into her life. He is broken after the humiliating loss of his longtime fiancé to his supposed best friend and they enter into a lusty affair which sets her body on fire. Graham has no idea why he’s so attracted to both the bespectacled, prickly Adelaide and the passionate Lydia, but soon he is caught in a dance with them both and torn between which future he wants to pursue.

When Graham finds out Adelaide’s secret identity will he be able to accept both parts of her? And will he be able to save her from a lurking danger that neither of them could have ever foreseen?

The Silent Duke is out Today!

The Silent Duke (The 1797 Club, #4) by Jess Michaels I can’t believe that 2017 is almost over and the holidays are just around the corner. My last release of the year is The Silent Duke, an erotic historical romance with a mute hero and a heroine who has loved him all her life. It’s spicy and emotional and I know a LOT of you have been waiting for Ewan’s book. It’s the fourth in my 1797 Club series, but can be read standalone. Here is a quick description:

Born mute, Ewan Hoffstead, Duke of Donburrow was abused by his wicked father and wretched younger brothers until an uncle swept in to save the day. Still, he carries the scars of his past with him, including a terrible belief that perhaps a “person like him” truly doesn’t deserve the title his uncle fought so hard for him to earn.

Recently widowed Charlotte may be the proper Countess of Portsmith to Society, but when she is around Ewan, she still feels like the enraptured little girl who met him decades before when her brother was best friends with him and his cousin.

A planned trip to spend Christmas with their families at Ewan’s estate reunites the old friends. But when a storm keeps the others from arriving on time, Charlotte decides to stop living in fear and pursue the man she has desired and loved her entire life. Ewan cannot resist her seduction, but he fears giving in to his heart. Especially when the family that disposed of him returns and threatens not only his life, but that of the woman he loves.

The Duke of Nothing is here!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2018! I hope it brings you much happiness and great reading. My first release of the year is The Duke of Nothing, an erotic historical romance with a hero who needs to marry for money and is torn apart when he meets a woman who has none. It’s the fifth in my 1797 Club series, but can be read standalone. Here is a quick description:

Baldwin Undercross, Duke of Sheffield, has a secret he’s keeping from almost everyone he knows and loves. He is destitute, thanks to gambling by his late father and his own bad decisions. There is only one option now, marry for money and do it soon. An opportunity presents itself when a rich American woman arrives in Society hunting for a title in trade for a huge dowry.

Helena Monroe is the companion to her entitled cousin and she is miserable. But once she encounters Baldwin on a terrace, her time in England starts to look up. She quickly realizes he believes she is her cousin and everything starts to fall apart.

Baldwin is now torn between a future that will save his family legacy and one with a woman he is growing increasingly attached to. Will he choose safety or passion, obligation or love?

The Undercover Duke is here!!

Hi everyone! What a crazy few months it’s been. I’ve been traveling all over the place, writing like crazy and today I have a new book out! The Undercover Duke is a historical romance with a duke who is a spy and a heroine who is a healer. There are all kinds of secrets between them and a whole lot of danger lurking around every corner. Plus, some old friends. It’s the sixth in my 1797 Club series, but can be read standalone. Here is a quick description:

Lucas Vincent may be the Duke of Willowby but he’s never acted as such. He’s been too busy working for the War Department as a spy. But years of dangerous work has finally caught up to him and he was involved in a violent attack that nearly killed him. Forced home, his angry, aggressive desire to get back in the field and find out to who betrayed him is keeping him from healing.

Diana Oakford was raised by a physician who served the King’s War Department and she knows better than most the dangers that job entails. She was also trained in healing, so when she’s asked to come and assist with Lucas’s recovery she has a hard time refusing.

Once they’re alone together an unexpected connection begins to grow between these two people who have fought their emotions all their lives and more begins to heal than just Lucas’s broken body. But just when they start to believe they could find some kind of happiness, the past rears its ugly head and Lucas will have to choose between the life he once led and the woman who has changed his world.

The Duke of Hearts is Out!

Hi everyone! Have you seen or listened to the soundtrack for the amazing Broadway musical Hamilton? There’s a song in the show called “Nonstop” and the line is, “Why do you write like you’re running out of time, write day and night like you’re running out of time?” Well, there’s a reason I sing along loudly to the song. It seems like I’m also Nonstop (you could do worse than have something in common with Alexander Hamilton).

It’s been a busy first half of the year thus far! I recently finished the first draft of the 9th book in the 1797 Club series and I’ll be starting the LAST book of that series next week! I’m excited and sad to see my dukes come to an end. Of course, we’re a long way from that. In fact TODAY the 7th book in the series is out! The Duke of Hearts is Matthew’s story and I know a lot of you have wondered about him and how he’ll get over the fiancée he tragically lost! Here is a quick description:

Matthew Cornwallis, Duke of Tyndale, once loved a woman, but she died in a tragic accident he felt responsible for. Since then, he’s been playing pretend that he isn’t broken inside, even as he’s seen as London’s most sought after bachelor. He decides to drown his sorrows at the notorious Donville Masquerade where he encounters an alluring stranger who he spends the night with.

Mrs. Isabel Hayes was married once to a man who did not inspire passion and she’s been curious ever since. She has no intention of taking a lover at the Donville Masquerade, but to watch the activities there, just as she has been for weeks. But once the masked stranger pursues her, she is swept away.

Soon Isabel recognizes her lover for who he really is and realizes a terrible truth. She is the cousin of the woman he once loved and lost, and her family blames him for what happened. Driven by the passion they’ve shared, but also repelled by the stories she’s heard, Isabel continues the affair, trying to find the truth. But once Matthew realizes her identity, will he pursue her for what they’ve built, or only because she reminds him of what he lost? And will he survive to share a life with her at all? Lucky 88!

I have a book out August 18 (tomorrow as I write this) and that's always exciting. Doubly exciting is that it will be my 88th release. How I got here, I almost don't know. 20 years in this industry and I've been so lucky to get to produce books I'm so proud of and continue to find readers and friends through what I do.

The Matter of a Marquess (The Duke's Bastards, #3) by Jess Michaels The Matter of a Marquess is a reunion romance, it features a curvy heroine and a hero permanently disabled by war injuries. Oh, and an amazing dog who lumbers through it all.

I loved writing this wonderful couple's way back to each other. I hope you'll love reading it.
