We don't always listen to what our life is "telling" us, but we should listen and f…moreWriter's block is life's way of saying "stop writing for a while". We don't always listen to what our life is "telling" us, but we should listen and follow accordingly. When your mind and body needs a break, the worse thing you can do is to doggedly keep trying to force a book through, just because dollar signs, or a deadline, pressures you to do so. Creativity then suffers, and your readers will eventually see the lack of your creativity. Sometimes I wait an entire year before writing another book, just to relax my mind, collect interesting data that I may or may not use later, catch up on movies, or focus on growing another area in my life besides writing. Wisdom says to listen to yourself when your creativity is blocked. Step back. Hit the pause button. Give life a chance to change you. New growth within yourself jettisons inner confidence and new creativity. Your process of not writing, is just as important, and works later in tandem with, active writing.(less)

The first book I ever wrote covers a story timeline of 3,500 years - the complete history of the Holy Bible, beginning with Moses (1,500 BC) all the way into present day through epics of time, cultures, and events. Whew boy! This book represents over 20 years of careful and thoughtful research. To me, the story of the Bible is a most worthy adventure benefiting every person's eternity. The best thing about being a writer is having eternal purpose for success. The purpose for any success I earn is to attract people to me, so that I can point them to Christ Jesus, the Salvation of humanity. (less)
