I learned to read when I was four years old, and I began writing soon thereafter. My first story was about a girl and her horse—it was awful, but my parents loved it, which encouraged me to continue. My favourite genres are of the fantastical and magical, where the mundane rules of real life don't apply. ...more

John Milton's Paradise Lost is fan fiction of the Bible. Marvel's Thor is fan fiction of Norse myths. BBC's Sherlock is fan fiction of Doyle's novels. Fan fiction that is created from a copyrighted material is under Fair Use as long as no one tries to make money from it, and I definitely don't try to make money from it.(less)

They taught me I was broken, flawed,

And so I lived my life a fraud.

I hid the truth so deep inside,

Even from myself I’d hide.

You came and broke my chains, got rid of the facade.

And yet I constantly appeared

So ordinary, normal, drab.

My friends were cool and different, fab;

Devoid of colour, I was grey and dull and drear.

"I'm going to stop this book at about 30% in. The issues I have with this book have finally reached the point where they overshadow the plot.
