We had to make the decision to remove our books from all outlets and close all of our social media accounts. We are deciding whether to rebrand and rerelease the books, but we have to decide what’s best for our family and friends. (less)

I'll start books and not finish them all the time, but if a storyline or a character captures me, I'll make the extra effort to finish it.

Right now I'm reading Loop, by Karen Akins. I received both of her books at an event a year ago, and never took the time to read them. (I told you I'm a terrible reader.) I finally started the first book, and it's really good.

After that, who knows? I'll most likely move to the next in the series. Then I'm not really sure. I'm so slow the list of things I should read is daunting. I fear the commitment.

I really wish I was one of those people that can read an entire book in one sitting, but I just can't. I'm up for suggestions. (less)

I’m really the lame one!

Our city puts on a huge fireworks display about five blocks from our house. And we can stand on our front porch to watch it. Did I bother getting out of bed to see it? Like I already said... I’m the lame one. Instead of getting up and going out to the porch, like my wife did I just stayed in bed trying to go back to sleep. They were loud and went on surprisingly long.

Seriously?

“In that moment, I don’t see the brother that I grew up with. I don’t see the geek who can’t use an iPod. I don’t see the kid who can’t throw a football to save his life. I see the man he will become. I see a leader, strong, pure, unconquered.”
Douglas Pershing, Ordinaries

“He nods. “Remember,” he says more confidently than before. “This is not our fight. This is not our home. This is not our battle. This is not our war. Not ours alone. This is a battle for freedom, equality, and the right to happiness. This is an Ordinary battle, and we cannot succeed without them.”
Douglas Pershing, Ordinaries

“This generation a Shifter will arise, Hidden amongst the lost and lies. A great many will see The life that could be. The universe will shake; The greatest among us will quake. The towers will fall. The ruled will rule all.”
Douglas Pershing, Ordinaries

“He is brave, strong, and true. He isn’t full of anger or hatred. He doesn’t fight this battle out of fear for our planet or hatred of our enemies. He fights out of love. He loves these people he doesn’t even know, simply because they exist. He will fight to the death for them, simply because he can. If necessary, he will die for them simply because it’s right.”
