My book rating system:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Brilliant, I bloody loved it!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Really good, highly recommended.
⭐⭐⭐ - Enjoyable, well worth a read.

I don't talk about ⭐⭐ and ⭐ reads because I only talking up the good stuff. That's why my Goodreads rarely has anything under a ⭐⭐⭐.

Bio: Alan Baxter is a British-Australian multi-award-winning author of horror, supernatural thrillers, dark fantasy, and crime. He’s also a martial arts expert, a whisky-soaked swear monkey, and dog lover. He creates dark, weird stories among the valleys of southern Tasmania.

Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks! I think they did a great job with the adaptation. In the original story it's very clear the creature in chains is an elder god and I describe it as having many eyes and chains passing through its flesh, but I left it a little ambiguous as to who/what it really was. Absolutely the implication is that it could have been Cthulhu or equally a similar non-Lovecraftian cosmic entity. The adaptation went 100% in with "It's definitely Cthulhu!" and I'm fine with that. I think they did an amazing job with it.(less)

Never apologise for loving good stuff

Hello fiends!

How the hell are you? I hope this finds you as well as possible, despite everything. Remember, finding joy and chasing your dreams is punk as fuck in times like these, so never apologise for looking for the good in the world.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about this stuff. Numerous times I’ve seen people saying something like, “Look, sorry, I kn

Alan Baxter I've just added all the books of The Belgariad and The Mallorean, along with Belgarath The Sorcerer and Polgara The Sorceress to my shelves. It's terribly sad news to hear that David Eddings has died. These books are part of the reason I became an author.

Christine Hi from down under Alan, thanks for being a friend. I hope to hear more from you.
