Déjà vu. August 24
There's a line from the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen movie, It Takes Two:
Alyssa: You remind me of someone.
Diane: I do? Who?
Alyssa: Someone I've never met.
Have you ever experienced the feelings of Déjà vu?
You've met this stranger before. You've eaten at this new and upcoming restaurant. You go to a new area or listen to a new song and it somehow all feels so... familiar?
A local restaurant closed down near where I live. And I was greatly disappointed. I thought I had lost the delicious BBQ and amazing sides of baked beans and mashed potatoes.
Until months later, I realize there's another location of that same restaurant in a different part of town.
I don't think anything really leaves our life.
Not really anyway.
Yes, we say good-bye to friends, we grieve at funerals and say farewell to known places... but somehow we catch glimpses from the past in our present.
We smell a whiff of perfume that takes us back to our days of high school. We sit at a local eatery that reminds us of our first day in college. And we recognize what we lost in the laugh of our coworkers or in the beauty of a sunrise.
Nothing ever truly fades. They just reappear in a new and fresh way.
Keep a look out for new beginnings.
If you need prayer for anything, let me know. I would love to pray for you!
