For a long time now, I've tried to find a way to organize some of my free content in a way that doesn't rely too heavily on social media like Twitter. I also want to monetize some elements, which will help me with all sorts of annual costs, such as convention hotel and travel bills, hiring my own proofreader and diversity consultants for the series going forward, and covering the considerable cost of commissioning my own cover art for the series. (I opt to buy the artwork myself so that I can continue to use Micah Epstein for his wonderful covers; the only other option, as I understand it, is to transition to "in-house" covers from my print publisher, which I am personally wary about.)

It's important to me that I continue to post free "snippets" every week, as I do on Twitter and Blue Sky. But I'll also have new ways to share more extensive and deeper content, as well as a higher "pricing tier" designed to talk about the actual craft of writing. The breakdown of Patron options at present will be:

$1 SCION LEVEL

* Occasional TV/Film/Book/Graphic Novel reviews about my original and current creative inspirations.
* Follow me as I re-read my first trilogy for the first time in a long, long time. I'll do posts on my reactions, too.

$5 PRINCIPALITY LEVEL

* All Scion Level material
* Blog posts about my world and characters -- something that I can't really do in 280 characters.
* Deleted outtakes from Novel 4 -- I'm stumbling across a lot of "road trip" material that I just can't put into the final manuscript given my current contractual page limit. There are only so many places for Brand one-liners, and there are only so many Corbie scenes. So these deleted outtakes are....well, they exist, but off-page. I'll post some here, and maybe gather them into a little novelette later.
* One live Zoom session with Arcana and Principality patrons a month, where you can Q&A me on the Tarot Sequence. I'll record these sessions, too -- and the first one is this Saturday at 12pm EST!

$10 ARCANA LEVEL

* All Scion and Principality Level material
* One live Zoom session with Arcana patrons every month about Tarot Sequence and, more specifically, the craft of writing.
* A sneak peek at the real end of Chapter 1 of MISFIT CARAVAN -- because what happens involves the main Arcana Level project, which is....
* Bi-Monthly posts about a story called "TAVIS", which immediately precedes Book IV. You'll watch every stage of development -- from the chaotic, unsorted brainstorming notes; to the polishing that reveals key plot points; to the organized outline; to the finicky "Scene Notes" I create before I write every scene. I may even get time to write the story.... But the goal here is to talk about process.
* Once I finish TAVIS, I'll move onto another Tarot world story. The point of this level, other than an early look at extensive additional content, is to talk about the actual act of writing.


I also intend to build a non-Patreon site for people who won't or can't access Patreon content. That site will also enable me to set aside a group of monthly log-ins for people who might not be able to afford the Patreon cost. That will happen over the next month or two.
