Why Nothing You Do or Say Makes a Difference.....

Well, when I say it doesn't make a difference, I mean it doesn't actually do anything to make the changes you want. Whatever you do or say to change your life doesn't make the changes. Only the changes you make inside you result in the changes outside you. And here are a couple of analogies that help to explain this:

Mirror, Mirror....

"Out there" is a reflection of inside you (however unlikely that may seem at times). Trying to change "out there" by making changes to "out there" is like trying to make your lips in your reflection red, by putting lipstick on the mirror. When you put lipstick on your own lips, the lips you're looking at in the reflection are automatically red!

Printing...

Here's another way of looking at it:
When you're printing documents, if you want them printed in colour, but they're printing in black only, putting colour ink on the page will of course not change them in the way you want - to be printed in colour. You need to change the ink cartridge in the printer, to a colour one. Then, the pages that print will automatically be in colour.

Now, these make sense to us because we know what mirrors are, and we know how printers work. However, if you were to put a mirror in front of someone who had never come across one before, and told them to make those lips red, they are most likely to try and put the lipstick on the mirror. And it would make absolutely no sense to them at first (until of course they tried it), that changing the colour of their own lips would change the colour of those they're looking at in the mirror.

The same with the printer. If someone had never come across a printer before, and it was continuously printing out pages black and white, and you told them the pages need to be in colour, they would most likely try to make the pages colour by putting colour ink on the pages themselves. And if you were to say to them, the only way to make those pages colour is to in fact open the printer and change the ink cartridge, it would make no sense to them at first. They would be looking at the pages and wondering what on earth the inside of the printer has to do with those pages they're looking at right now.

In both these cases, it's only if that person trusts enough to suspend disbelief for the time being, and tries making the changes "inside" despite how unlikely it seems looking at the "evidence" in front of them.... that they will then experience the results, and from then on be able to make the changes effectively. :)

So, to experience others loving you, you need to love you - that's like changing the printing cartridge from black (no love, or whatever other negativity is playing out), to colour (love for yourself). Love for others is great, but if you don't love yourself, and you love others... that's the cartridge you have in - love for others... and that's naturally then what will be printing... love for others. ;) To get the result of love for you, you need to put a cartridge in that includes the "colour": love for you.

In fact, I'm going to take this printing analogy a little further: Let's say, you want love from others, and that is equal to blue ink - so you need to make sure that your printer cartridge includes blue ink. Then, let's say you also want laughter and happiness... and that is equal to yellow ink - so you need to make sure you add yellow ink to your cartridge. And then, let's say you also want respect from the people you live and work with.... and that is equal to red ink - so you need to make sure that you add red ink to that ink cartridge.

OR.... you could replace it all with one ultimate colour cartridge which contains alllllllll the colours you could ever need, and then some! And that ultimate colour cartridge is called unconditional love. If you keep yourself topped up with unconditional love (and that's unconditional love for yourself and then everything and everyone else - you can't give it unless you're full of it! ;) ) then the outside of you will automatically reflect alllllll the changes you want! :) Because unconditional love contains all the colours, whatever it is you desire, the right colour is already in your cartridge, and will print automatically.

I do hope this makes sense and doesn't sound like I've been smoking my socks ;)
