Before We Were Yours is what we will be reading for the Nov,. 1st book club meeting - forgot to mention which book in previous question. Are there discussion questions?
Lisa Wingate
Glad you asked :o) The Digital Book Club kit has many discussion questions. Also some related history, vintage pictures, ideas for food to serve at the club meeting, some Q&As about why I wrote the book, etc. link: http://www.randomhousebooks.com/wp-co...
You can read some related short stories on www.theuntoldstory.guru. Through my website you can email me and ask to be on my bookclub list so I would email you with future book club kits or other information of interest to clubs. I hope it's a great discussion! Lisa

Just finished before we were yours. I’m wondering, when May was shown the pic she said Judy would get worried about them coming around Trent sr. But she didn’t need to worry because he loved her so much. I thought she married a senator so I was confused. Also, were the documents in the envelope possibly regarding the twin brother? Lastly, did I miss it or did we not get info on how they reunite with Lark?

“The Book of Lost Friends” has so much that stays with me as a reader. The school scenes with Benny were so real: The kids with raised hands, “Oh, oh!” and then speaking without permission. Aunt Sarge telling Benny that the good teachers always leave. Lisa, your mom Sharon was my colleague in OK years ago. Are those school examples from your own experience, or maybe from your mom?

Lisa...Judy Stanford was named that by her adoptive parents, the Staffords. Since Avery Stafford is her grand daughter, it is assumed that Judy Stafford married at one point and had a son whose name was also Staffird. Did Judy marry a man with last name Stafford so she became Judy Stafford Stafford. I’m confused as to how Judy Stafford’s name carried over to her son??? Please clarify. I loved the book!
