What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Nish Amarnath As a writer, you get to create different worlds and different realities based on your imagination. You get the leeway to construct those realities through different situations whose outcomes you can control as a writer. In other words, you can't necessarily control situations and people in real life, but you can do so as a writer! That can perhaps be construed as a form of escapism, and I do think that escapism is intrinsic to human existence. You get to give that urge for escapism a lot more leeway as a writer.

I also enjoy exploring the depths of the human psyche - the extremes of pain, tragedy, sadism, joy, love, spirituality and courage.
