What exactly happens in the life of an author? Do you attend book fairs or such events? Do people want to have an interview with you? I'm just asking about everything that happens if someone writes/publishes a book, 'cause I really, REALLY want to be an author. (Was this understandable? Jeez, always having problems to describe the big questions of life XD)

Nenia Campbell I don't think there's any one answer to this since everyone's experiences and levels of success are different. I have not ever attended a signing nor have I ever gone to a book con. I don't even really advertise or promote my own work that much and paying others to do it for me is a luxury I can't afford. For me, writing is just a hobby that I'm lucky enough to have people pay money for, but it doesn't make anywhere near enough for me to live on and i do it in addition to a full time job. It's wonderful that you want to be a writer but I advise you to have a backup plan just in case, and not to feel discouraged if you need to fall back on that plan. Just keep writing.
