Is there any benefit to reading the Gilded Newport Mysteries in order, beginning with #1? Or can I pick any one to start with?

Alyssa Maxwell Hi Diana. Although each mystery stands alone, there is an evolution to Emma Cross's character and the events in her life. For that reason it's probably best to read them in order, but people who have picked up a later book have said they didn't feel it detracted from their enjoyment of the story.
