Saw the news today about the new series and my first thoughts were ‘oooh I wonder what they’ll look like?’. This led me to wonder how much of an input you have in that side of things? Do you give ideas/directions for cover art etc? If yes, do you already have ideas for the new ones or does that come a lot later? Thanks, and congratulations on the new deal!

Hi Benjamin,
It's great to hear from you.
I wonder what the cover art for the new series will look like, too - I'm excited about that.
In my experience cover-art so far for my books has always been a collaborative experience. Technically my publishers have control and final say on the covers, but to date they have always been brilliantly communicative and open to ideas. Really each cover has been a conversation where ideas and images have gone back and forth, slowly honing down to the final images, and I have always been immensely happy with the final results.
I hope that helps to answer your question.
Best,
John

Hi John! Just wanted to let you know I pre-ordered your book a couple of months ago. I am now counting the days for when it will arrive at my doorstep! I am so excited that the story hasn't truly ended! How many books will be in this upcoming series, if you don't mind me asking? Sincerely one of your biggest fans, Ayla

Hello, Mr. Gwynne. I'm a professional translator (and a fantasy addict to boot) and I'm translating Ruin right now. I love the book, which is bringing me back to the epic fantasy I used to translate in the Eighties (David Gemmell and David Eddings, among others). Being a pet lover (I had a Belgian Shepherd I adored and right now I'm proud to be owned by 12 cats, I wanted to ask you... does Storm really die?
