How do you, as a writer, avoid becoming a caricature of yourself?

Lawrence Wright I think I'm pretty far from being pigeonholed. I write articles, nonfiction books and articles, plays, movies, novels, and now even a musical (which I wish I had done decades ago). It's not that I'm trying to avoid being stereotyped, I'm just interested in exploring different forms.
