Goodreads asked Ruth Tearle:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Ruth Tearle Write.
Write to discover what to write.
Write for yourself first, before you share it with others.

Remember there are three distinct phases to writing a book.
Firstly writing without judgement. This is the creative phase of writing whatever comes into your mind.
Then there is the crafting and editing phase. Structuring your book so that it is interesting and easy to read.
Then there is the publishing and marketing phase.
Don't confuse the phases. When you are writing, just write.
