Jayne asked Lecia Cornwall:

Does the beauty of Calgary help to inspire the Highlander books you write?

Lecia Cornwall Hi Jayne! The Rockies certainly are beautiful! Though they're an hour or so west of Calgary, we can see the mountains on the horizon, know if there's snow there, or if they're brown or gold or covered with cloud—it's breathtaking, even from so far away. While Calgary and mountain towns like Banff and Canmore have strong Scottish ties, I think my strongest connection to Scotland comes from my husband's family, and my own love of Scottish culture and history. My husband was born in Paisley, Scotland, and my wonderful Scottish mother-in-law told my children lots of stories about growing up in Scotland, and spending the war years during her childhood in the safety of the Highlands. They're very proud of their Scottish heritage. Inspiration comes from so many places— and Scottish culture is filled with a kind of magic that is so unique. It's easy to find inspiration there.
