Margob99 asked Harriet Evans:

HI Harriet, I have just finished "The Wildflowers" which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am very curious to know how you write a story like that - with the narrative unfolding in different times, in parallel. Do you write each "time" in one block, and then intersperse them at the end, when you're editing? Or do you actually write as the chapters appear in the book? From an (amateur) writer, many thanks! Margo

Harriet Evans Hi Margo thanks a lot, I'm so glad you enjoyed The Wildflowers. I moved lots of that book around actually, it was important to get the tension right about what you find out about the past when. No, I don't write in one block, it wouldn't give you the right flow for the book as a whole. But as I say, I didn't write it start to finish in that order, as I did take a while to work out more than a lot of my other books actually where everything goes. So many big characters in that book - Maddie, Althea, Cord, Dinah, most of all Tony - who all need their moment. Aw I love this book, haven't thought about it for ages, thank you. x
