Haha, it's definitely being in your pajamas and not having to go to the office. BUT I also miss the office a lot and miss buying my coffee and walking down the road to work and being part of the world and not a loon in my pjs! So probably the best thing is making something yourself that sits on your shelf. I love that about my job that i can point to a book and say: I wrote that. Sounds mad but it is really special.

HI Harriet, I have just finished "The Wildflowers" which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am very curious to know how you write a story like that - with the narrative unfolding in different times, in parallel. Do you write each "time" in one block, and then intersperse them at the end, when you're editing? Or do you actually write as the chapters appear in the book? From an (amateur) writer, many thanks!
