Does your book really claim Chinese people suffered "at the hands of socialism and communism"?

Lisa See I'm not sure which of my books you're asking about. This doesn't sound like a position I would generally take. However, in Dreams of Joy, people most definitely suffer through the Great Leap Forward, which is considered to be one of the greatest manmade famines in the history of the world with between 30 and 50 million people dying.
