derp asked Nenia Campbell:

How do you get over writing burnout?

Nenia Campbell UGH, this is such a good question because it's often something I face a lot. I have anxiety and beat myself up a lot-- over not writing enough, over not writing well enough, over taking breaks, over not taking breaks. It can be EXHAUSTING and DRAINING. On the release night of my most recent book (QUID PRO QUO), I actually had a panic attack. What I've learned is that I need to be kinder to myself. I always try to do my best as an author, but if something isn't working, sometimes the best thing to do is scrap it or take a break. And also, to forgive yourself if your work isn't perfect or as prolific as you want. Some days I'll write 2k words and some days I might write two. And both of those, I'm beginning to learn, are okay.
