What an excellent question. One mystery in my personal life would be...my husband had a great uncle who was found walking alongside a railroad track in the middle of a deep forest. The child wore only a diaper and was determined to be younger than three. The family took him in while police searched for family. No one claimed him.
It's a good mystery. He grew up and became a hard worker and good family man. The mystery of who he was or where he came from never solved.
