Hey there! I found your profile from Jennifer A. Nielsen's question answer about adding LGBTQ+ to the Ascendance series, and I was thrilled to find a like-minded girl! I'm most likely going to keep reading it, since the LGBTQ+ is only going to be in a short story, but I'm definitely not as much of a fan as I used to be. Are there any similar books you've found to it?

Issabelle Perry Hey, Leiana!! I'm super sorry for my delay in your answer. So to be honest, there will never be a book that is similar to The False Prince, because it's just so amazing and unique! But from what I've heard, a lot of people say the Ranger's Apprentice series is similar, but I haven't actually read that book for myself. It's on my TBR, though, and hope to get to it soon. If you're wanting to try out more Jennifer Nielsen, The Scourge has a very similar vibe as The Ascendance Series, and the main characters are very similar. It made me think a lot of TAS.

Outside of Nielsen, it's hard to find similar titles, since there will never be another Sage, but you might want to check out some of these books that either have the same medieval fantasy vibes or fun teen boy protagonists: Fawkes by Nadine Brandes; Kingdom's Dawn by Chuck Black; Treason's Crown by Anne Wheeler; The Broken Prince by Kara Linaburg; and Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas (I haven't finished this book yet, but so far it's been amazing!).
