Wade asked Michael Robotham:

There is a student in my high school who moved here (to the US) from Bristol. I know he likes thrillers so I recommended your books to him, and mentioned that a lot of your books take place in Bristol. Just now I was looking at your bio and saw that you seemingly have no (or few) connections to Bristol. What led you to base many of your novels there?

Michael Robotham Many years ago, before I became a novelist, I was a journalist and ghostwriter. One of my collaborations was with Tony Bullimore, the round-the-world sailor who capsized in the Southern Ocean and triggered one of the most dramatic rescues in maritime history. Tony, now deceased, was a long time Bristol resident and I spent a few months in the city when we were working on the book.
