Goodreads asked Anthony Adolph:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Anthony Adolph As a genealogist I'm always looking for the longest family trees that exist, and one of the very longest in Britain goes back to the mythological Brutus of Troy. By the time my biography of Brutus was published (in 2015) I was already fascinated by, and hard at work on, tracing his own mythological great grandfather, Aeneas. And Aeneas has always mattered, to Rome, to Britain, and indeed to me, as an ancestor.
