Goodreads asked Daisy Dexter Dobbs:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Daisy Dexter Dobbs Read as much as you possibly can to become familiar with how stories are constructed. Recognize what a "sagging middle" is and learn how to avoid it. Thoroughly examine books that are well-written, as well as those that are poorly written. Do you find yourself riveted, captivated by the characters and/or the plot? Or did you find the book dull, annoying, amateurish, or simply uninteresting? Ask yourself why. Study novels as if they were textbooks. And keep doing this throughout your writing career.
