Don't get caught up in the old adage: write what you know. As nice as that is, you will almost always find you know practically nothing in this world. Instead, write what you want to know, write what your mind is desperate to say. The whole 'write what you know' will spring out of your creativity.

Hi Rachael! I'm super excited to have one of copy of Captive Hope as part of your Goodreads Giveaway--thank you! As a blogger, I'm more used to hosting giveaways than winning them, lol. I can't wait to read the book, but I noticed that it's the second book in your Twelve Realms series. It sounds like it can be read separately to the first book, but I just wanted to check and see if that was in fact the case? Thanks
