Erik Larson For pleasure, I read fiction, almost exclusively. I love literate detective fiction--in particular I've got a soft spot for Scandinavian writers. But, I'll read anything. Lately I've read The Girl on the Train, This is Where I Leave You, and West of Sunset. I loved Station Eleven, and have just started Life after Life.

The first book I read of yours was "Devil in the White City", I'm curious how you ever came to know who Herman Mudgett was? Until I read your book I'd never heard of him.
