Unfortunately when one listens to a book some things can be "lost in translation". For example, I can't see the spelling of the "emory" you mentioned repeatedly in Thorn Jack. Is it "EMORY" or "EMERY"? Either way, in the various contexts it didn't make much sense to me; especially since emory oak only really appears in the US in the southwest (certainly not in NY) and as one reader mentions above it isn't an ivy.

Katherine Harbour At the last minute, I was asked to change the name of a character. Her name was Jane Ivy and I changed it to Jane Emory--after the final edits were sent in. Someone (not my editor!) used autocorrect to change it and didn't check afterwards. So every 'ivy' became 'Emory'. It's been corrected in the trade paperback and I think the ebook. I hope it didn't distract too much. I had tried so much to make it perfect, but things happen when you're working with a team.
