Hi! I was wondering what your IMA series was about, and what type of romance (if any) it included. Is it first person POV? Is it for a more mature audience?

Hi there! First off, thank you so much for your interest in my books. The IMA series is a Stockholm syndrome romance with a twist. The twist is that the heroine does not fall for her captor right away, and is actually quite resourceful and strong-minded. Christina is a Dominican-American woman with an interest in computers and a rigid Catholic upbringing that has caused her to be very sheltered. Michael is an ex-gang member-turned assassin with no formal schooling who is forced to question his loyalty to his organization when he takes a look at himself in the mirror for the first time in forever. The first book has what could be considered dubious consent, but their relationship develops and changes as they do over the course of the story. I would definitely say that it is an 18+ type of story, but the first and the last books in the series are the grittiest.

If traditional publishing never works out, I may turn to self-publishing. What are some tips you can give people who are trying to sell their own writing? What would you say has made you successful? :) Is it appealing to a niche-genre? Should an author invest good money in a professional editor/cover design (I've known people who have done this)? Do they need social media?
