Julie Boudreau
Julie Boudreau asked Jacob M. Appel:

I am completely in awe. Your education is absolutely astounding. Your parents must be proud. Does your mind ever stop? I always wondered what drove people to seek out the type of education you have had. Parents? inner drive? possessed by einstein? Where does your inspiration come from?

Jacob M. Appel As a psychiatrist, I can safely say that only a crazy person would obtain as many degrees as I have. Consciously, I've pursued an education out of curiosity, but I suppose an analyst would say that I'm motivated by a deep sense of inadequacy. (That's why I avoid seeing an analyst.) The most important lesson I learned in school was actually when we watched "The Wizard of Oz" in second grade and the wizard says to the scarecrow, "We can't give you a brain, but we can give you a diploma." I suppose I believe that, which is why I'm unlikely to be Secretary of Education any time soon.
