Writing a novel is hard! The novel had a load of problems - things that I had to fix in editing. But that's just part of the fun.
As for publishing, I didn't have nearly as many problems as many other authors. Most authors struggle for years to get an agent and a publisher. I was somehow ridiculously, outrageously lucky. I was in exactly the right place at exactly the right time. And I'm grateful every day!

Hi Alice, I absolutely adore your work and was wondering how you came up with the themes of your novels as I really struggle with that when I’m given the homework by English teacher, to challenge me, to come up with something that I would enjoy writing as well as have others enjoy?
