Dear Kate, I just wanted to thank you for your beautiful books about Rome. I really loved them all. Vix is absolutely adorable, but "Daughters of Rome" is my favorite. I was sorry to read that LEC is end of saga, I was hoping for good story about Lucilla, Marcus Aurelius's daughter. You write that maybe you'll go further in Roman past - would you consider to write about Caligula's reign? So many interesting women.

Kate Quinn Delighted you've enjoyed my Rome series! Lucilla didn't end very well, so I can't say I'm terribly drawn to her story (as a bit of a romantic, I like there to be at least a ray of hope at the end!) I might do more in the reign of Augustus someday; who knows?

For the time being, if you're drawn to Lucilla and to the women of Caligula, try SJA Turney--not only is he one of my very talented co-authors on "A Year of Ravens," but his novel "Praetorian: the Great Game" stars a young Praetorian sent to serve Lucilla at the start of Commodus' reign . . . and he has a forthcoming book on Caligula coming which is told from the point of view of his middle sister, Livilla!
