Goodreads asked Luis Almonte:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Luis Almonte The best advice I can offer aspiring writers is don't be afraid to tell the story that you want to tell. There are going to be a lot of obstacles along the way, and there are going to be people out there who wish to discredit your hard work, and who wish to minimize the time, energy and effort you've put into your project. Always stay the course, and don't let yourself get discouraged by the naysayers.

Also, elicit feedback from beta readers, family and friends to get multiple perspectives. Make sure that these people enjoy reading the genre in which your story belongs to. Don't be afraid to grow and evolve as an author just as your story undergoes the same growth.

Lastly, make yourself accessible to readers. I believe authors have a responsibility to discuss their works with the public, and to provide insight on the creative process when needed. Also, don't be afraid to reach out to other authors. Absorb as much as you can from the experiences of others. I wish you the best of luck on your writing journey. There is no greater feeling for an author in the world then to see your name on the cover of the book you've written. It makes the long, sometimes arduous journey that much more worthwhile.
