I had to think about this one for a bit. I would say that Rick and Ilsa remain my favorite characters, they are out of Casablanca. I think they remain my favorite as it takes an act of true love to let someone go because it is what is best for them. Not everyone has such depth of love for another, most just look out for what they want. Rick could have had Elsa easily, but sacrificed his affections despite the ease of attainment.

Yes, I am sure I might visit the world again and some of the characters if there is enough interest. However, the dragon curse (aka geas) will be completed and end Alador's initital tale. It is on pre-order now and is called Fallen Tiers.

I am looking at near the end of the year. To tie up all the threads for the final book is turning out to make for a longer novel. It takes me about four months to write up a novel and then the rest of time is spent trying to catch errors and content edit. Thanks for asking! Have a great day!

I just finished writing a book called Magic Scorned and it has been sent to the editor. While waiting for that to come back, I have started book three of the Blue Dragon's Geas. I have started getting messages to get this one out.
I think that is the highest compliment people can give to me. "Please write faster"

So far the characters that I have killed off have been planned. I am still a fairly new author to independent publishing so I am sure this will change.
However, in The Blackguard, I ran into an opposite problem. I mapped a character that was supposed to be a villain. However, as I began to write him, I liked him so much that the story shifted and a different man rose to the top as the villain of the story. I won't say which character as I do not want to spoil the story.

For me, the best thing about being a writer is that I get to live more than one life. To some extent, you can do this as a reader but when you are the writer, you make life choices as the story progresses.
It also is a creative outlet for stress and life angst. When I sit down and begin to write, all the world worries fall away. When I come up to reality again, I am almost always in a more balanced state to face life challenges.
I have no doubt in my mind that writing will become an escape from the battle I face against cancer. I can slip into worlds where anything is possible and the heroine can win despite the odds. It is already cooking as a story line, the heroine stalked by an enemy that will not relent. Will she succumb? Will she battle through and destroy him?

I always leave off in the middle of a paragraph even if I know how the paragraph should end. When I do that, I never get writer's block. I have a harder time fighting procrastination. If I sit down to write, I almost always can just hammer out at least a rough first draft. Even if it sucks, it has enough of a skeleton to begin to build on in the rewrite process.
However, getting myself to sit down and write. There is the problem. I can always find a reason not to write right now. I don't know why I do that because I love to write. I think it is because once I start writing, the world around me disappears. It is just me, the keyboard and a foreign world.

I always wondered what it would be like to be swept from our world to one of magic and dragons. That is currently what I am working on right now. The struggle to adjust, to come out the other side a strong heroine and the internal battle when love and duty conflict.
