Goodreads asked Cheryl Matthynssens:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Cheryl Matthynssens For me, the best thing about being a writer is that I get to live more than one life. To some extent, you can do this as a reader but when you are the writer, you make life choices as the story progresses.

It also is a creative outlet for stress and life angst. When I sit down and begin to write, all the world worries fall away. When I come up to reality again, I am almost always in a more balanced state to face life challenges.

I have no doubt in my mind that writing will become an escape from the battle I face against cancer. I can slip into worlds where anything is possible and the heroine can win despite the odds. It is already cooking as a story line, the heroine stalked by an enemy that will not relent. Will she succumb? Will she battle through and destroy him?
