Goodreads asked Rachael Bell-Irving:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Rachael Bell-Irving Keep reading. Reading improves your writing. Then you have to keep writing. A story, especially a first draft, doesn't have to be good - it just has to be written. Sometimes you will start an idea, leave it for a year, and then come back to it later. Allow it to happen and remember that no idea is a bad idea and no idea is set in stone.
